We recommend starting your Italy honeymoon in Turin province. It is filled with history and has some ancient castles filled with splendor you can stay in. Here are a few you may like to consider:
Soul Farm Hotel or Castello di Montaldo as it was called this is also one of the few spa we have in Piedmont Italy. It is located in Montaldo Torinese, surrounded by open countryside with lots of farms, little villages and plenty of restaurants scattered around. Many Italian weddings are held here. Castello di Pavole impressive located in the village of Pavone - the side entrance to the castle is quite an adventure depending where you park your car. You must remember it was built between 9th and 14th centuries there's a lot of history in it. Security is good. It has a little village nearby but you will need to drive down. Within the castle there's a small shopping archade for Italian fashion. The view is impressive from every room.
Castello di Razzano a little outside of Turin province just a few kilometers from Asti the region we produce our famous sparkling Asti spumante wine. This is a small hotel with only 8 suites. Saying so we would also suggest you consider Sauze d'Oulx it is small resort town with great skiing route being part of the famous Via Lattea (Milky Way) with 400 kms of ski runs, 95 ski-lifts and 75 kms of artificial slopes. As they are popular with British tourists you will find many of the shops speaks English.
Sestriere is a popular ski destination for locals. It offers more than 400 kms of ski slopes is noted for cross-country skiing if that is your passion made possible by the fact that it lies central along the Via Lattea (Milky Way). This is a town for skiing and only skiing. You will not get to enjoy the other Italian charms.
Bardonecchia is one of Piedmont Italy oldest ski resorts. They tell me that at any one time Bardonecchia can handle 23,000 skiers in an hour. Sounds awesome........The slopes here are classified as 8 pistes meaning quite difficult and six great black runs. Season skiers this is for you. It is one of the few places where you can heli-ski off-piste. There are also good restaurants for you to sample our Piedmont Alpine cuisines.
The beauty of winter in Italy lies it is charm of old traditional ski towns. You will find many of them in its original form although interior may have been refurbished with modern utilities.
